Dramatic colour story that reflects the surrounding headland landscape

Coastal Headland :this story is about dramatic colour. Its sophisticated and meditative. The family of four wanted a strong statement to reflect the surrounding landscape

The single story apartment is situated on a coastal headland between the bay & ocean and interacts with the dramatic depth of colours and form of such a landscape.

We’ve included Porters Paint rusted pillars, dark blue and deep green walls
Large scale paintings add abstract elements layer the rooms with a rich patina.
The living area has a feature ethanol marble fireplace with a tall fluted timber chimney. The marble bench generously extends the width of the wall. Muted tones interact :a dark green floor rug, charcoal sofa, small black side tables and black & white checkered ottoman playfully contrast in shape and colour with Louise Tuckwells’ vertical vibrant colour field painting.
The indoor living areas and bedrooms flow to 2x organic outdoor spaces at either end of the apartment.
The rear exterior courtyard is built at the foot of tall sandstone rock formations which create height and natural privacy. This courtyard is clad in beautiful hanging gardens and a large floor level trough. The walls and trough are painted in a deep green black which highlight the garden of succulents, exotic plants and variegated plantings. The children’s two bedrooms open onto this peaceful organic courtyard
